First Dance Songs from Real 2021 Weddings

It’s been a minute since I’ve published a yearly list of REAL first dance songs from REAL weddings. But here I am with the roundup from 2021.

I keep a playlist in Spotify that I use during my private wedding dance lessons at my studio in Charlotte, NC. I love looking back at my playlists from past years and reminiscing about the students who I taught a particular dance to.

I can literally scroll through songs and legit remember choreography from YEARS ago. That’s just how my crazy brain works!

This past year, I feel like there were some really fun and different songs that I’d never taught dances to. Some of my personal favorites were disco inspired or dance hits like “You Make Me Feel Like Dancing” by Leo Sayer, “Give It Up” by KC & The Sunshine Band, “Best Of My Love” by The Emotions and “Waterloo” by ABBA.

You can’t not smile when you hear any of those songs.

All of the couples who chose these more upbeat songs said they just wanted to kick off the night with a fun dancing vibe. After the past couple years, I can’t blame them for just wanting to PARTY!
